Tax Season Is Upon Us

We have already begun scheduling appointments!

Remember!

We ask that you once again make your appointments early and drop of your papers 3 to 4 days before your appointment. This allows us to make the best use of your time during the appointment. Organizers to assist you in getting your information ready are printed and ready to pick up!
Feel free to stop in to schedule your appointment and pick up your complimentary organizer.

It’s hard to believe how quickly 2026 arrived! We are very thankful for you, our loyal clients. 2025 brought some changes to McDonough Tax and we are very happy with how things went and we anticipate more changes in 2026!

The Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 includes multiple tax changes. We have been attending classes and getting ready for all the questions you may have. We will address changes that pertain to your tax return when you come to your appointment. It’s important to realize the front desk staff will not be able to answer ta questions. We encourage you to provide documents as you have in the past. If we find something additional is needed, you will be informed at your appointment.

Mary will continue to ease into retirement. Her hours will be limited for the coming season. She will continue to see clients based on needs. We have gone through the lists carefully to make the best use of her skill set. Her plan is to work for a few more years in a limited manner. Paring down her client list has not been an easy task but it is a necessary one.

Jacob will continue in his current role as well as taking over more management duties.

We are very fortunate to have two qualified preparers, Dana & Brenda, returning to McDonough Tax this year. Many of you had your taxes prepared by either Dana or Brenda last year. They will be taking on more duties this year as Mary transitions to retirement. We have complete confidence that they will handle things competently and professionally. Of course, Mary & Jacob will be available to them if questions or concerns arise.

When you make your appointment, you may receive a different preparer than last year. We have looked carefully at our client information and made the best match for everyone based on the shifting roles. If you had Mary or Jacob last year you may be assigned to someone different this year. We understand change can be difficult and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation. As stated we matched based on previous returns. If you have had changes in 2025 and feel your needs won’t be met with a different preparer, please let them know when scheduling and we can re-assess the situation.

We are fortunate to have developed amazing relationships with our clients and trust that you will be happy and comfortable with these changes. We are anticipating our office will be busy and we are doing all we can to ensure a successful tax season for all.
All our best,
Jacob McDonough & Mary McDonough
